Ontario Second Career provides financial support for training and education to laid-off workers so that they can learn new skills and secure a job in high-demand occupations. One can get upto $28000 or costs including:
tuition
books
manuals, workbooks or other instructional costs
transportation
basic living allowance (maximum $410 per week)

Employment Insurance
Employment Insurance programs provide financial support to unemployed workers looking for a job or upgrading their skills. To be eligible to receive EI benefits workers must fulfil qualifying and entitlement conditions and must have their last year’s premiums paid.
